Carrying the Message

Corrections, treatment, C.P.C. and public information

Some people can't get to a meeting. They're locked up, they're in a treatment bed, or nobody has ever told them A.A. exists. These committees are how the message reaches them anyway.

You don't need a title or long sobriety to help with any of this. Most of it starts with filling in one form and turning up. If you're not sure where you'd fit, ask at the district meeting or get in touch.

Behind the walls

The correspondence program pairs you with a member inside who asked for someone to write to. You use first names and a committee address — never your own. The pre-release program is the other end of it: meeting someone on the day they get out and taking them to a meeting.

If a court sent you here

You're a welcome guest. Nobody will ask why you came, and nobody will turn you away. If you need paperwork signed, hand it to the secretary before or after the meeting.
